Introduction: Fluorochloridone, the technical grade, is a brown solid. m.p. 42–73℃, vapor pressure 8 × 10² Pa (25℃). Easily soluble in organic solvents such as acetone, chlorobenzene, ethanol, and xylene, with a solubility of 100–150 g/L. Solubility in kerosene <5 g/L. Solubility in water 28 mg/L. Partition coefficient (n-octanol/water) 2300 (20℃). Half-life is 7 days at 60℃ and pH 4, 18 days at 60℃ and pH 7, and 11–100 days in soil.
Applications: Fluorochloridone, a pyrrolidone herbicide, is a carotene synthesis inhibitor. It can be used to control chickweed, ivy leaves, speedwell, and violet in winter wheat and winter rye fields; amaranth, purslane, and black nightshade in cotton fields; and cleavers, black nightshade, and purslane in potato fields. Apply 500-700 g active ingredient/hm² pre-emergence for broadleaf weed control. For carrots grown in light soils, applying 500 g active ingredient/hm² can increase yield.
