Products Description
Ofloxacin (OFL) is a third-generation quinolone antibiotic, also known as norfloxacin. It is based on the quinolone molecule's basic molecule structure, which is a nitrogen-(hetero)biscyclic ring structure, with fluorine substitution at the X-8 position and the addition of a daughter ring. It is a broad-spectrum antibacterial drug, effective against bacteria, mycoplasma, and some anaerobes. Ofloxacin is a yellow or grayish-yellow crystalline powder, odorless, with a bitter taste, slightly soluble in water, ethanol, acetone, and methanol, and extremely soluble in glacial acetic acid.
Application
Ofloxacin is mainly used clinically for acute and chronic infections of the respiratory tract, pharynx, tonsils, urinary tract including the prostate, skin and soft tissues, intestines and otolaryngology caused by susceptible bacteria.
