Products Description
Mycophenolate mofetil is a precursor of active mycophenolic acid (MPA), an immunosuppressive component extracted from Penicillium culture medium. It is an inhibitor of inosine mononucleotide dehydrogenase (IMPDH), an enzyme essential for the synthesis of guanine nucleotides, especially for the classical synthesis of guanine nucleotides required by lymphocytes.

Application
Mycophenolate mofetil is a prodrug produced by nonspecific esterase cleavage in vivo to generate the parent compound mycophenolic acid. Mycophenolic acid blocks inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase and is an effective immunosuppressant.
