2-Methyl-1,4-naphthoquinone (vitamin K3) is a yellow crystalline powder that clumps upon absorbing moisture. It is readily soluble in water and hot ethanol, sparingly soluble in icy ethanol, and insoluble in benzene. Its aqueous solution has a pH of 4.7-7. It is stable at room temperature but decomposes easily upon exposure to light.
